From 1980-1985, Leon Herbert Schmidt (1909-1989) was Editor-in-Chief of ASM’s journal, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. These papers cover roughly half of that tenure. Although the original order of these papers was not intact when they were found in the ASM Archives, it was apparent that they had been arranged by year, rather than by topic/provenance; this arrangement is maintained in the finding aid.
