Can I donate materials to the University Archives?

Donations to the University Archives are encouraged from UMBC departments, staff, student groups, and alumni. All donations must be approved in advance by the Archivist and should meet the requirements outlined in the University Archives collection guideline. Please contact Lindsey Loeper for additional information.

Overview

Before beginning a departmental history, please be sure to check with the head or chair of that department to see if there is already a history available. Even if it was written many years ago, it can serve as a foundation for your work and will limit any duplication of efforts.

The links below, and throughout this guide, serve as general resources. Please feel encouraged to contact Archivist Lindsey Loeper to schedule an appointment to discuss your research.
