The example below from APA Style's guidelines page shows the in-text citation of some text quoted from ChatGPT. OpenAI is listed as the author, since it is the company that developed and released ChatGPT, followed by the year of the version used:
Remember to include all relevant information, such as the date or year of the GenAI version used, the name of the tool and specific version, model or software type, and a link to the AI tool itself.
The specific appendix or supplementary material created for the quoted text needs to be mentioned both in the body of your paper, and in your reference list as well:
