HIST 201: 1950s America and the Rosenbergs

Books: as Primary and Secondary Sources

Books: For any major event or social movement you will find there are both published secondary (many) and primary (fewer) sources - how you search is crucial. Individual names can be used to search for both- either as author (for primary sources) or subject (secondary sources). Use CATALOGUSMAI (for resources in the USM libraries) or Worldcat  for resources anywhere.

Examples:

[Primary source]  Rosenberg, Julius [as author] : 4 records for works at USM libraries, ex. "The Rosenberg letters : a complete edition of the prison correspondence of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg " [HX84.R578 A4 1994 at multiple USM libraries]

[Secondary source]  Rosenberg, Julius [as subject]: 51 records for works at USM libraries , ex. "Executing the Rosenbergs : death and diplomacy in a Cold War world" [ KF224.R6 C58 2016 at two USM libraries]

Time Periods, locations, and activities, all have individual Subject Headings which can be searched individually or by connectors:
