PROMISE
"PROMISE is the hub of professional development for all graduate students and postdocs at UMBC and is a part of a PROMISE network across the University System of Maryland. PROMISE provides a community of learning and support" such as an intensive Dissertation support program, a Research Symposium, and many workshops and events.
Graduate Student Association (GSA)
The Graduate Student Association at UMBC is the student-led governing body on campus that provides advocacy, resources, and leadership for graduate students.

Graduate Student Research
The Research and Creative Achievement Office at UMBC provides information and links to research funding, IRB protocols, and many other resources.
Dissertation House
Dissertation House is a multi-day writing intensive retreat for graduate students sponsored by PROMISE. It features workshops, one-on-one coaching, and seminars. It is typically offered three times a year in January, July, and October. Interested students need to submit an application form.

GSA Grants Program

"The Graduate Student Emergency Fund is available to...support students through financially challenging circumstances. The maximum award available per student is $500.
