All of these materials include short, factual entries that can help you get basic information about a topic. Use the works cited or bibliography section to identify other resources on your topic.

Biographical Databases

  • Read the scope notes for each database to determine if it will contain information you need.
  • Check for links to articles and books that may provide more detailed information.

  • Similar to reference books but online!

Internet Resources

  • There are numerous websites, electronic journals and blogs about type and typography.
  • Evaluate them carefully and verify any information you find there.
