What is EndNote Basic?

EndNote Basic (formerly EndNote Web) is a web-based citation manager that allows for gathering, storing, and managing citations.

EndNote Basic accounts can be accessed from any computer with internet access. Citations can be directly transferred from selected databases (Web of Science, Ebsco), imported from saved (exported) records, or entered individually.

Setting up EndNote Basic Account

Navigate to myendnoteweb.com or https://access.clarivate.com/login?app=endnote

1. Click "Register"

2. Complete the registration form using your UMBC email address

3.Click "Register"

Account Requirements

Initial registration must be done via an authenticated IP address, either

  • Through a computer on campus, or
  • Logged into myUMBC and registering for an account with Web of Science

Roaming Access

Once initial account registration is complete, roaming access:

  • is available for 12 months
  • must be renewed every 12 months by logging in from a computer on campus or logged into myUMBC
