This research guide presents a variety of primary source collections available from the UMBC Library. Feel free to explore the tabs on the left column to explore the collections. These are organized and cross listed according to several different categories, namely:
*Additional resources can be found in the Primary Sources for Historians and Finding Primary and Secondary Sources guide.
Individual resources are also accessible through the Library Database search by name or keyword.
Primary sources are highly context and/or period specific so searching across multiple databases has limited utility. It can be useful if you are searching cross mutilple sources for sources on a specific event (i.e. looking across multiple historical newspapers, journals for articles on the 1918 Flu pandemic). It would not be useful to search for articles on the Black Death in historical newspapers because they didn't exist.
